The federal government has granted paid leave to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood. According to an official notification, the leave will continue from June 29 to July 6.
The Establishment Division issued the notification on June 27. It stated that Rashid Mahmood, a BS-22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, will remain on full pay throughout the approved leave period.
Government Allows Foreign Travel During Leave
The government has also permitted Rashid Mahmood to travel abroad during his leave. However, the approval carries the condition that the federal government will bear no foreign exchange liability.
Officials included the condition in the notification issued by the Establishment Division. Therefore, any travel expenses involving foreign exchange will not fall on the government.
Dr. Hamid Ateeq Sarwar Assumes Additional Responsibilities
During Rashid Mahmoodโs absence, Dr. Hamid Ateeq Sarwar will oversee the responsibilities of the FBR chairman. He currently serves as the Member Strategic Transformation at the FBR.
