Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced a special honorarium for employees involved in preparing the federal budget. Eligible government officials will receive an amount equal to six basic monthly salaries. Additionally, the payment recognises their extra efforts during the budget process.
Budget Staff to Receive Special Honorarium
Aurangzeb made the announcement while addressing the National Assembly. He praised officials for their contribution to preparing the federal budget for 2026-27.
The honorarium will cover eligible employees from the Prime Minister’s Office and Parliament. Furthermore, relevant staff from the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister’s House will also receive the payment.
The finance minister said the award recognises the additional responsibilities undertaken during the budget’s preparation and presentation. Therefore, eligible officials will receive six basic salaries as a special incentive.
FBR Leadership to Hold Monthly Karachi Visits
During his address, Aurangzeb also announced an administrative decision regarding the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He said the FBR chairman and senior officials will visit Karachi every month.
According to the minister, the visits will take place during the second week of each month. Meanwhile, officials will perform their regular duties while engaging with stakeholders in the country’s largest commercial hub.
The government expects the monthly visits to strengthen coordination between the FBR and Karachi’s business community. Consequently, authorities aim to improve tax administration and operational efficiency.
