New Gemini-Powered Tool Brings Easy Video Editing
Google has introduced a new AI-powered feature called Video Remix for Google Photos.
The feature allows users to edit and transform videos within seconds. It uses artificial intelligence to make video editing easier, faster and more creative.
Google announced the feature on Wednesday. It is powered by Gemini Omni, the companyโs recently released AI model.
According to Google, Gemini Omni can create content from different types of inputs. The company says this technology will help users turn ordinary videos into more attractive and shareable clips.
Video Remix Offers Cinematic and Creative Effects
Video Remix is available through the Create tab in Google Photos.
The feature gives users several AI-based editing options. They can improve lighting, change backgrounds and apply artistic styles.
Users can add cinematic relighting to brighten dark videos. They can also replace simple backgrounds with more creative scenes.
The tool also supports artistic effects such as watercolor, raw sketchbook and oil painting styles.
For example, a user can make a video look like it was filmed inside a greenhouse. Another video can be edited with a soft morning glow. A regular clip can also be turned into a watercolor-style video.
Google said the goal is to make video editing simple for everyday users.
The company said users should not need professional skills or long editing hours to create beautiful video clips.
Google Expands AI Features in Photos App
The launch is part of Googleโs wider push to bring generative AI into its consumer products.
By adding AI video editing directly inside Google Photos, the company wants users to edit videos without using separate professional software.
The move also strengthens Googleโs competition with Apple, OpenAI and Adobe in the fast-growing AI editing market.
Video Remix is now rolling out to eligible Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers.
The feature is being released in several countries, including the United States, Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea and Turkey.
Google Photos has already added several AI-powered editing tools in recent months.
These include AI touch-up options that can remove blemishes, improve skin texture, brighten eyes and whiten teeth.
Google has also announced an AI feature that can turn clothing photos into a digital wardrobe. This tool allows users to generate outfit ideas and virtually try different looks.
With Video Remix, Google Photos is moving further beyond simple photo storage. The app is now becoming a more advanced AI-powered editing platform for photos and videos.
