Following Queen Elizabeth II’s death a day ago, Google has displayed a muted grey version of its homepage in memory of her.
The CEO of Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, tweeted his condolences to His Majesty, complimented the queen for her leadership and public service, and expressed sympathy for the people of the United Kingdom and the rest of the globe.
On several occasions, including Memorial Day, Google has replaced the usual splash of color on the homepage with a muted monochrome theme.
Even on the Discover feed of certain Android phones, the logo appears in grayscale.
