Gold prices surged by Rs. 4,300 per tola in Pakistan on Wednesday after a three-day decline in the local market.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, the price of 24-karat gold rose to Rs. 441,636 per tola. The price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs. 3,686 to Rs. 378,631.
Meanwhile, gold prices also gained in the international bullion market. The global price increased by $43 per ounce to reach $4,191.
Silver Prices Also Increase In Local Market
Silver prices followed gold’s upward movement on Wednesday. The price of silver increased by Rs. 20 per tola to Rs. 6,578, while 10-gram silver rose by Rs. 17 to Rs. 5,639.
The latest increase came after gold prices declined for two consecutive sessions in Pakistan. On Tuesday, the price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs. 800 per tola to Rs. 437,336.
The price of 10-gram gold also fell by Rs. 686 to Rs. 374,945 during the previous session. Silver declined by Rs. 20 per tola on Tuesday, settling at Rs. 6,558.
Gold Rebounds After Sharp Two-Day Decline
Gold prices had suffered a sharp drop on Monday after tracking a steep decline in international markets. The local price fell by Rs. 12,800 per tola to Rs. 438,136, while 10-gram gold dropped by Rs. 10,973 to Rs. 375,631.
Silver also declined significantly on Monday, falling by Rs. 325 per tola to Rs. 6,578. Gold had closed at Rs. 450,936 per tola on Saturday after losing Rs. 2,100 during the session.
The latest rebound has pushed domestic gold prices higher again, following the recovery in international bullion rates.
