Gold prices in Pakistan have slipped below Rs. 440,000 per tola, marking another change in the local bullion market. The decline offers some relief to buyers after recent price fluctuations affected jewellery purchases and investment decisions.
Local gold rates often respond to movements in international bullion markets and changes in the Pakistani rupee’s value. Consequently, shifts in global prices can influence domestic rates and affect consumers planning to buy gold.
Weekly Decline Continues Despite Temporary Recovery
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association, gold settled at Rs. 439,036 per tola. Meanwhile, the price of 10-gram gold fell by Rs. 1,372 to Rs. 376,402.
The latest decline followed Friday’s recovery, when gold prices gained Rs. 2,800 to reach Rs. 440,636 per tola. However, Saturday’s drop pushed the precious metal’s weekly loss to Rs. 3,000, compared with Rs. 442,036 a week earlier.
International gold prices also decreased by $16, settling at $4,165 per ounce. Market fluctuations throughout the week included a Rs. 2,100 decline on Monday, a Rs. 900 recovery on Tuesday and another Rs. 3,000 drop on Wednesday.
Silver prices followed a similar downward trend, falling Rs. 81 to Rs. 6,175 per tola. The metal recorded a weekly loss of Rs. 380, reflecting continued volatility in Pakistan’s precious metals market.
