Gold prices declined in Pakistan on Tuesday, with the 24-karat rate falling by Rs. 1,000 per tola to Rs. 462,136, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs. 857 to Rs. 396,207. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold decreased by Rs. 786 to Rs. 363,202.
Gold Prices Decline Locally
The latest decline followed a drop in international gold prices. According to the association, gold fell by $10 per ounce in the global market to reach $4,396.
The movement in international prices influenced the local market, where investors and consumers closely monitor precious metal rates. Consequently, gold prices recorded losses across the main categories.
Silver Prices Move Higher
Unlike gold, silver prices increased in both local and international markets. The price of silver rose by Rs. 10 per tola to Rs. 7,069, while 10 grams of silver increased by Rs. 9 to Rs. 6,060.
In the international market, silver also gained $0.10 per ounce to reach $65.90. Therefore, precious metal markets showed mixed movement during Tuesdayโs trading session.
The latest rates highlight contrasting trends between gold and silver. While gold prices declined amid weaker international rates, silver continued to gain, giving investors different signals across the precious metals market.
