GILGIT / ISLAMABAD: In an electrifying conclusion to the Gilgit-Baltistan Polo Tournament, the GB Scouts secured a thrilling victory over the GB Police team.

This traditional polo event unfolded at the Wahab Shaheed Polo Ground, coinciding with the 76th anniversary of Gilgit-Baltistan.
The tournament featured teams representing different districts, and it marked a historic moment in Gilgit-Baltistan as the final match was played beneath the night sky, introducing a unique and captivating aspect to the event.
To conclude the riveting finale, a spectacular fireworks show lit up the night, adding a dazzling touch to the proceedings. Among the distinguished attendees were the GB Chief Minister and the GB Governor, who graced the occasion as special guests.
PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar approves hefty pay increase for senior bureaucrats
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar approved an increase in the salary packages for management positions (MP-I, MP-II, and MP-III) effective from October 1.
The Ministry of Finance issued an office memorandum outlining these changes.
The basic pay and salary package for MP-I scale have been raised to a minimum of Rs629,230 per month and a maximum of Rs772,780 per month, compared to the previous minimum of Rs433,950 per month and a maximum of Rs532,950 per month.
Additionally, the house rent has been revised to a minimum of Rs146,450 per month and a maximum of Rs205,900 per month, while the provision for utilities has been set at a minimum of Rs28,500 per month and a maximum of Rs35,240 per month.
For MP-II, the basic salary has been increased to a minimum of Rs263,180 per month and a maximum of Rs421,100 per month. As for MP-III, the minimum salary has been adjusted to Rs184,230 per month, with a maximum of Rs263,190 per month. The office memorandum also specifies the details of utilities and house rent.
