The Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology has launched new graduate assistantships for MS and PhD students. The initiative supports talented researchers through financial assistance and academic incentives. Moreover, the scheme covers students across multiple engineering and technology disciplines.
Stipends and Academic Benefits
Under the new program, PhD scholars can receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 158,000. Meanwhile, MS students may receive Rs. 88,000 every month.
In addition, GIKI will provide free tuition fees to selected candidates. The institute will also offer free hostel accommodation. These benefits aim to reduce financial pressure and encourage advanced research. As a result, students can focus more effectively on their studies.
Furthermore, the assistantships are available across all MS and PhD programs. GIKI expects the initiative to strengthen research and attract outstanding students from across Pakistan.
Application Process and Eligible Programs
GIKI has confirmed it will automatically consider all submitted and pending applications for the assistantship scheme. Therefore, eligible applicants do not need to submit separate requests. The application deadline is July 31, 2026.
The institute offers graduate programs in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science. It also includes Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Electronic, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering.
Additionally, students can pursue Engineering Management, Engineering Sciences, and Nanotechnology and Materials Engineering. These diverse fields create opportunities for advanced education and research careers.
Through this initiative, GIKI aims to strengthen its graduate research environment. The assistantships also make higher education more accessible for deserving students. Consequently, more graduates may pursue research without significant financial burdens.
