Faizan Ahmed Faiz, a student of Government College University (GCU) Lahore, has completed an extraordinary 1,100-kilometre run from Lahore to Skardu in 22 days.
Faizan, a member of the Falcon Triathlon Club (FTC), completed the endurance challenge in Skardu on Thursday, September 17.
Gruelling Journey Across Pakistan
The run began in Lahore and took Faizan through the plains of Punjab before entering the mountainous regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
His route included several major locations.
These included Gujranwala, Jhelum, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbottabad, Naran, Babusar Top, Chilas and Raikot before the final stretch to Skardu.
Faizan covered the entire distance on foot over 22 days.
The challenge involved long-distance running, steep climbs, rugged terrain and changing weather conditions.
The route also included some of northern Pakistan’s most demanding mountain stretches.
Run Dedicated to Armed Forces and Police Martyrs
Faizan dedicated his endurance journey to the martyrs of Pakistan’s armed forces and police.
He said the challenge was also intended to pay tribute to those who lost their lives while serving the country.
The run carried an additional social message focused on drug awareness.
Raising Awareness About Drug Abuse
Faizan used his journey to highlight the risks of drug abuse, particularly among young people.
He encouraged young Pakistanis to choose healthy and constructive activities instead of substance abuse.
During the journey, he also interacted with communities along the route and used his sporting challenge to promote social responsibility.
Journey Ends in Skardu
After covering 1,100 kilometres over 22 days, Faizan reached Skardu on September 17.
The achievement highlights his endurance and determination while showcasing the challenging geographical diversity between Lahore and Skardu.
