Fourteen prisoners escaped from a police van near Chakian Post in Kahuta on Monday. The inmates were travelling to Adiala Jail after attending a court hearing. However, police quickly launched a large-scale search operation.
According to police sources, officers stopped the prison van for a routine security check. During the stop, one prisoner reportedly opened the vehicle’s door. He then threw chilli powder into the officers’ eyes before the group escaped.
Police Re-Arrest Four Escaped Prisoners During Search
Authorities immediately deployed additional police contingents across Kahuta and surrounding areas. Consequently, officers intensified search efforts to locate the escaped prisoners.
Police successfully re-arrested four prisoners during the operation. However, ten prisoners remain at large. Investigators continue searching nearby localities for the remaining escapees.
Senior police officers also reached the scene to supervise the ongoing operation. Meanwhile, security teams expanded the search across adjoining areas.
Authorities Tighten Security Across Kahuta Region
Police sealed all major entry and exit points around Kahuta following the escape. Additionally, authorities strengthened security around Chakian Post and nearby locations.
A heavy police presence remains deployed throughout the area. Officers also established vehicle checkpoints along Kahuta Road. These measures aim to trace and arrest the remaining fugitives.
Meanwhile, authorities placed the entire area on high alert. Police urged residents to report any suspicious individuals immediately. The search operation continues as law enforcement works to apprehend the remaining escaped prisoners.
