Pakistan Army Completes Rescue Operation in Balochistan Mine
At least four coal miners were killed and five others injured after a gas explosion inside a Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) coal mine in Harnai district of Balochistan.
The incident occurred at PMDC Coal Mine No. 151 in the Shahrag area, where several workers were trapped following the explosion.
Rescue teams, including Pakistan Army personnel, launched an emergency operation to recover trapped miners and provide medical assistance.
Rescue Teams Recover Bodies and Save Trapped Workers
Officials confirmed that the rescue operation has been completed, with four bodies recovered from inside the mine.
Chief Inspector of Mines Muhammad Atif Ali said all trapped miners had been accounted for after the operation.
Initial reports suggested eight workers were trapped, with four rescued in injured condition. Later updates confirmed that nine miners were affected, including five injured workers and four fatalities.
The injured miners were shifted to Quetta for further medical treatment.
