Four young children died from suspected suffocation after becoming trapped inside a parked vehicle in the Khaglanwala Road area, according to police and local authorities.
The children reportedly left their homes early in the morning to play outdoors. However, when they failed to return after several hours, their families became concerned and began searching for them.
The search ended tragically when relatives found the children inside a parked vehicle on nearby premises. Authorities said the vehicle’s automatic locking system prevented the children from getting out.
Children found after hours of search
According to initial reports, the children became trapped after the vehicle’s doors automatically locked. As a result, they remained inside the parked car until they died from suspected suffocation.
The victims were between four and seven years old. They included one boy and three girls.
Police officers reached the scene shortly after the bodies were discovered. Emergency responders then transferred the children to the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for medical examination.
Police launch investigation
Meanwhile, investigators have begun examining the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities said preliminary findings indicate suffocation inside the locked vehicle caused the children’s deaths.
Officials are collecting evidence and recording statements to determine how the children entered the vehicle and whether any negligence contributed to the tragedy.
The incident has shocked the local community and renewed concerns about the dangers of unattended parked vehicles. Authorities have urged parents and vehicle owners to remain vigilant and ensure parked vehicles remain locked, secure, and inaccessible to children to help prevent similar accidents.
