KARACHI: Pakistan’s former skipper and all-rounder, Shahid Afridi’s sister, succumbed to her long-standing illness while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi. She passed away on Tuesday morning.
The funeral prayer is scheduled for today at Zikriya Mosque in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi Phase-8.
Shahid Afridi informed the public of his sister’s demise by posting on X and mentioning that the final rites will take place after the Zuhur prayer today.
Just a day ago, Afridi had made a plea for prayers for his sister, stating on his Instagram, “My sister is currently battling for her life; I urge you to pray for her health.”

Reports indicate that Shaheen Shah Afridi contracted a viral bacterial infection and sought medical treatment, including receiving antibiotic drips, to aid in his recovery.
Abdullah Shafique also experienced a severe high fever, with doctors currently assessing his condition.
Furthermore, Zaman Khan joined the list of those affected by a viral infection, exacerbating the teamโs challenges.
In the midst of these difficulties, the National Teamโs media manager has revealed that several cricketers, including Mir, are showing signs of improvement and are on the path to recovery.
Furthermore, the seriousness of the situation became apparent as the national players’ health issues led to the cancellation of today’s scheduled practice session.
