ISLAMABAD: Gohar Ayub Khan, the former foreign minister and National Assembly speaker passed away on Friday. His funeral prayer is scheduled for Saturday at 3:00 pm in Village Rehana, Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Omar Ayub Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General and the son of Gohar Ayub Khan confirmed the peaceful passing of his father after a brief illness on X. The funeral prayer will take place at 3:00 pm in Village Rehana, Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with Qul to be offered at 11 am at Omar Ayub Khan’s residence on Main G.T Road Haripur on 19th November.

Born in 1937, the former foreign minister had been under treatment in a private hospital in Islamabad for some time, as stated by PTI spokesperson Rauf Hussain.
Gohar Ayub Khan, the son of former field marshal president Ayub Khan, received tributes for his services to the nation and the country.
President Dr Arif Alvi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise, offering heartfelt condolences to the family members and praying for the departed soul’s eternal peace. The president also acknowledged the deceased’s contributions to the country in the field of politics.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar conveyed deep sorrow and grief, praying for the high ranks of the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family. He also paid tribute to the ex-foreign minister for his contributions as a politician.
Leaders such as PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, NA Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, and other prominent figures expressed grief and sorrow over Gohar Ayub Khan’s sad demise.
