Former Sindh MPA Ghulam Rasool Unar has approached a Karachi court over an unusual marriage dispute. He alleges a woman used AI-generated images during their online relationship.
Online Marriage Raises Questions
According to his petition, Unar met the woman through social media. They married through a video call on February 23, 2026. The woman reportedly wore a veil during their nikkah ceremony.
Unar claims she sent AI-generated images whenever he asked to see her face. His lawyer, Amir Nawaz Waraich, said Unar later saw her real appearance.
The lawyer claimed her appearance differed greatly from the images. Unar then kept his distance from the woman after discovering the alleged deception.
Divorce Follows Alleged Threats
The petition also accuses the woman of posting false images suggesting Unar had died. According to the lawyer, Unar divorced her on August 2.
The lawyer further alleged that she demanded millions of rupees after the divorce. He also accused her of blackmail and threats against the former lawmaker.
Meanwhile, a complaint has reportedly been filed with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency. The court has issued notices to police officials over the allegations.
The court directed the SP Complaints Cell and Defence police station SHO to submit a report. Officials must submit the report by August 17.
The allegations remain unproven until authorities complete their investigation and legal proceedings.
