The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle has arrested three suspects in connection with the leak of MDCAT exam papers across Karachi and Sindh.
The suspects, identified as Shiraz Bilal, Tariq Aziz Samo, and Shan Durrani, were key members of a group accused of leaking MDCAT exam papers during 2023 and 2024. They allegedly provided the leaked papers to students in exchange for monetary compensation.
The FIA’s investigations uncovered crucial evidence, including screenshots retrieved from the suspects’ mobile devices that revealed leaked exam papers shared with candidates.
Further inquiries indicated that the suspects were part of a broader network involved in exam fraud. The authorities have filed a case implicating 15 individuals, including university officials and test organisers, as co-accused in the scandal.
The FIA is intensifying efforts to apprehend other members of the group and dismantle the network. This ongoing crackdown underscores the agency’s commitment to curbing academic fraud and ensuring transparency in competitive exams.
Authorities have warned that any individuals or institutions found complicit in such activities will face strict legal consequences.
This case highlights the need for improved safeguards and stricter monitoring mechanisms to prevent similar malpractices in the future, ensuring the credibility of the testing system remains intact.
