ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested 14 more foreign nationals during its ongoing crackdown on illegal call centres in Islamabad.
According to sources, the suspects were allegedly hiding in different parts of a plaza inside a private housing society.
Following the operation, officials took the suspects into custody and launched legal proceedings against them.
Meanwhile, authorities have started deportation procedures for the detained foreign nationals.
## Foreign Nationals Face Deportation
Officials said around 250 foreign nationals have been transferred to Adiala Jail, while others were moved to Attock Jail.
In the first phase, authorities deported 14 Vietnamese nationals, including three women, last night.
Furthermore, officials are blacklisting all arrested foreign nationals before deporting them in phases.
This measure aims to prevent the suspects from re-entering Pakistan after their deportation.
## Nationwide Crackdown Planned
The federal government has also decided to launch a nationwide operation against illegal call centres.
For this purpose, authorities formed a new task force after reviewing the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency’s Operation Grey.
The team includes intelligence officials, FIA Cyber Crime Wing personnel, federal departments, police and district administration representatives.
The FIA headquarters will supervise the task force and coordinate operations against illegal call centres nationwide.
