Budget Date Announced in Finance Committee Meeting
The federal budget for 2026-27 will be presented in the National Assembly on June 5, 2026.
The announcement was made during a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance in Islamabad.
The meeting was chaired by MNA Syed Naveed Qamar.
Economic Briefing Highlights Stability and Key Indicators
Officials confirmed that economic experts will brief lawmakers on the upcoming budget framework.
Economist Ali Salman said Pakistan is showing signs of economic stability.
He noted that foreign exchange reserves have crossed 22 billion dollars.
He added that remittances have reached 33 billion dollars.
He also stated that the current account deficit stands at 324 million dollars.
Inflation remains in double digits despite improving financial indicators.
Government Highlights Lower Borrowing and Interest Rate Relief
Ali Salman said there has been a reduction in government borrowing.
Lawmakers also noted that interest rate cuts have provided some economic relief.
Javed Hanif stated that monetary easing has helped improve fiscal conditions.
