The Federal Board of Revenue has surpassed its tax collection target for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, collecting Rs 3,078 billion from July to September.
According to details, the FBR had set a tax collection target of Rs 3,053 billion for the first quarter. The latest figures show that the tax authority collected Rs 25 billion more than its quarterly target.
The FBR also exceeded its monthly collection target for September. The board collected Rs 1,355 billion during the month against a target of Rs 1,343 billion.
September Tax Collection Exceeds Target
September’s collection surpassed the monthly target by Rs 12 billion. The latest figures reflect higher-than-targeted revenue collection during the final month of the first quarter.
The performance also contributed to the FBR exceeding its overall quarterly target. The board collected Rs 3,078 billion during the three-month period against the target of Rs 3,053 billion.
FBR Records Strong First Quarter Revenue
The first-quarter figures cover tax collections made between July and September. The results include the revenue collected during September, when the FBR exceeded its monthly target by Rs 12 billion.
The tax authority’s quarterly collection now stands Rs 25 billion above the amount initially set for the period. The figures mark the FBR’s revenue performance during the opening quarter of the fiscal year.
