Tax authority publishes field formation contacts to assist traders with queries and implementation issues under recently introduced special procedure
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has published a list of designated focal persons across its field formations to facilitate traders covered by the newly introduced Special Procedure for Small Shopkeepers.
The tax authority announced on Friday that it had uploaded the list to its official website, allowing shopkeepers to identify and contact the relevant officials according to their respective areas of jurisdiction.
The initiative follows the introduction of the Special Procedure for Small Shopkeepers through S.R.O. 1166(I)/2026, issued on July 27, 2026.
Officials to Address Tradersโ Queries
According to the FBR, traders facing questions, confusion or implementation-related problems concerning the scheme can contact the designated focal persons operating within their jurisdictions.
The officials will provide necessary clarification and coordinate with shopkeepers seeking guidance about requirements under the new procedure.
Furthermore, the arrangement aims to establish direct communication between traders and the FBRโs field formations, potentially reducing difficulties faced by small businesses while dealing with tax-related procedures.
The tax authority said it had made the contact information publicly available specifically for the convenience and facilitation of traders.
FBR Moves to Ease Scheme Implementation
Meanwhile, the designation of focal persons comes as the government continues efforts to strengthen tax administration and improve engagement with businesses operating in the retail sector.
The special procedure introduced in July establishes a dedicated framework for small shopkeepers, while the latest facilitation measure seeks to help traders understand and comply with its requirements.
Consequently, businesses encountering procedural issues will be able to approach designated officials rather than navigating different FBR offices without a specific contact point.
The FBR urged traders to coordinate with focal persons assigned to their respective jurisdictions whenever they require clarification or assistance regarding the scheme.
The authority said the arrangement would help field formations address concerns more efficiently while improving communication with the trading community.
Through the initiative, the FBR aims to facilitate implementation of the new procedure and provide small shopkeepers with clearer access to official guidance.
A list of focal persons designated by FBRโs Field Formations under the Special Procedure for Small Shopkeepers introduced through S.R.O. 1166(I)/2026 dated 27 July 2026 has been uploaded on the FBR website for the convenience and facilitation of traders.
