ISLAMABAD: Former Minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that banning PTI or Imran Khan is beyond the control of the coalition government.
He said that the coalition government was trying to push the party “against the wall”..
Fawad stated this while addressing a press conference in Islamabad today in reaction to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ruling that the PTI has received millions of dollars from 351 foreign companies and 34 foreign nationals.

The commission also issued a show-cause to the PTI, seeking explanation as to why the prohibited funds the party received should not be forfeited.
The PTI has denied this wrongdoing, but the government declared the ECP’s verdict to a charge-sheet against PTI and its chairman Imran Khan.
Fawad Chaudhry said Imran Khan had a large public following and no one can plan of sidelining him from politics.
PTI leader said the government was running away from early elections as it has anticipated its defeat at the hands of the PTI.
He said overseas Pakistanis were outraged by the ECP’s verdict and were now sending more donations than ever. The ex-minister pointed out that Article 15 of the Elections Act outlined the process for dissolving a political party. However, he added that the ECP had no authority to take such a step.
