Police arrested a TikToker from Faisalabad after he uploaded a video containing obscene remarks about female tourists at Lake Saif-ul-Muluk. Authorities detained the suspect after he returned to his hometown following the controversial social media post.
According to police officials, the accused, identified as Yousuf, belongs to Chak 236 RB in Faisalabad. A few days earlier, he visited the tourist destination in Naran, where he filmed female visitors and used inappropriate language while recording the video. He later uploaded the footage on social media, which sparked criticism online.
Subsequently, Roshanwala Police traced the suspect and registered a case against him on the complaint of Assistant Sub-Inspector Mubashir Hafeez. Police arrested him on Saturday and shifted him into custody for further investigation.
Meanwhile, the suspect issued a video statement after his arrest and admitted that he created videos of women as part of his online activity. He also acknowledged using offensive language in his content and claimed that police had โconvincedโ him to change his behaviour.
Furthermore, Yousuf apologised publicly to women and urged fellow TikTokers to avoid producing disrespectful content. He stated that social media users should treat women with respect and think carefully before posting such material online.
Police said investigations remain underway, while authorities warned content creators against uploading offensive videos that violate social and ethical values.
