Under current austerity measures, shopping malls must close early. Since many cinemas operate inside malls, they must also end screenings sooner. The restrictions were introduced due to concerns surrounding a global fuel crisis.
According to Fahad Mustafa, these shortened schedules are affecting newly released films. He noted that movies rely heavily on their initial weeks in cinemas. Consequently, reduced operating hours limit opportunities to attract audiences and generate revenue.
The actor stated that a modest extension in timings could significantly benefit the industry. He explained that longer hours would increase ticket sales and improve audience access. Additionally, extended operations would support jobs within cinemas and hospitality businesses.
