A short clip going viral on social media shows Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, the Senate Opposition Leader, apparently blasting Pakistan’s army for letting the United States use our airspace to hit Iran. The caption says he made this statement on a TV show recently. That claim is 100% wrong.
The 18-second video first popped up on X on March 3, 2026. In it Abbas looks like he’s saying: “I have spoken to my army’s top leadership several times, but still our military allowed the United States to use our airspace. This is very wrong, very shameful. Whatever is happening in Iran, the responsibility for that falls on Pakistan’s army.” The post already crossed 46,000 views.
But here’s the truth. That interview actually aired on July 27, 2024—long before the US and Israel struck Iran in February 2026. Geo Fact-Check watched the full 40-minute recording. Abbas never once talked about Pakistani airspace, American planes, or blamed the army for anything happening in Iran.
We ran the viral snippet through two solid AI detection tools. The University at Buffalo DeepFake-o-Meter gave it a 99.7% fake score. Hive Moderation came back with exactly the same 99.7% mark showing AI generation. When you watch closely, his lips and face don’t line up properly with the words being spoken. That mismatch screams editing or deepfake work.
