KARACHI: In a concerning incident on Friday, an explosion occurred in close proximity to the Provincial Election Commission office in Karachi, prompting a swift response from law enforcement authorities. The explosion was caused by explosives concealed inside a bag left on the side of a footpath, but fortunately, the bomb’s detonation resulted in minimal damage.
According to SSP South Sajid Saduzai, the situation unfolded when a young man cleaning a car noticed the suspicious bag and promptly moved it to the curb. Shortly afterward, a minor explosion occurred. Despite the assembled bomb being crafted from materials found inside a shopper, there were no reported casualties or significant damage.
SSP Saduzai expressed concern about the incident, speculating that the blast might be part of a larger conspiracy aimed at instilling fear and chaos. To unravel the details, authorities are scrutinizing CCTV footage from the vicinity.
