Sutapa Sikdar, the wife of Indian versatile actor Irfan Khan, who died of a colon infection last year, has explained why she did not attend the Filmfare Awards show.
According to Indian media, Irfan Khan was awarded two awards at the 66th Filmfare Awards which were received by his son Babil Khan while his wife Sutapa Sikdar did not attend the ceremony.
Yesterday, the son of the late actor Irfan Khan shared a video on his Instagram account which has revealed the reason for not attending the Filmfare Awards ceremony of actor Irfan Khan’s wife Stapa Sikder.
In this video, it can be seen that Irfan Khan’s son Babil is getting ready to attend the Filmfare Awards ceremony while his mother is helping him to get ready and saying that she wishes she could also go to this ceremony. Babylon asks her mother, “Why don’t you go?” On which Stapa Sikdar hugs her son and says no, I can’t face people right now.
Actor Irfan Khan was given the award for best performance in the film ‘English Medium’ at the Filmfare Awards ceremony along with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
Versatile actor Irfan Khan died on April 29 last year at the age of 53 due to a colon infection.
