Vasay Chaudhry, a Pakistani actor, writer, and host, has been chosen to serve as the new vice chairman of the Punjab Film Censor Board.
Ammara Hikmat, the producer of The Legend of Maula Jatt, has also been appointed as an unofficial member. Kanwal Khoosat, a producer and Irfan Khoosat’s daughter, had previously served on the board in an unofficial capacity.
The new board will serve for the next two years. A representative of the Punjab Information and Culture Department said that selecting new members is a routine and formal procedure for conducting business. “There is no other particular reason to replace any member.”

The notification states that the Punjab Film and Censor Board will now be led by five official members, including Chaudhry Gull Zaman as chairman, Vasay Chaudhry as vice chairman, the secretary of information and culture department or their nominee, a second chief secretary of the home department or their nominee, and the secretary of law and parliamentary affairs or their nominee.
In addition, the board will be led by seven non-official members. This includes Ammara Hikmat, Juggan Kazim, Abid Rasheed, Ali Tanveer, Zaigham Gondal, and Fatima Ahmad Khan.
Chaudhry, 41, has made an impact on Pakistan’s entertainment industry with hits such as Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and Kaaf Kangana, as well as shows such as Mann Mayal, Pyarey Afzal, and Kahani Raima Aur Manahil Ki.
On the work front, Chaudhry hosts Mazaak Raat and recently portrayed Harry in 2022’s London Nahi Jaunga, which also stars Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, Kubra Khan, Gohar Rasheed, Sohail Ahmed, and Saba Faisal.
