ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi will present the “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” to the celebrated Pakistani actress Sajal Aly renowned for her exceptional talent and captivating performances, during the investiture ceremony scheduled for Pakistan Day on March 23, 2024.

On August 14, the president announced a total of 694 Civil Awards. It included Nishan-e-Imtiaz (7), Hilal-e-Pakistan (2), Hilal-e-Shujaat (1), Hilal-e-Imtiaz (26), Hilal-e-Quaid-i-Azam (18), Sitara-e-Pakistan (1), Sitara-e-Shujaat (20), Sitara-e-Imtiaz (60), President’s Award for Pride of Performance (70), Sitara-e-Quaid-i-Azam (3), Sitara-e-Khidmat (4), Tamgha-e-Shuja’at (24), and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (458).
Since 2009, Sajal Aly has demonstrated compelling performances in over 40 dramas, 14 telefilms, and 4 movies. Sajal has established herself as a multi-talented showbiz icon in the realms of drama and cinema.
According to an official statement, this civilian award acknowledges the actress’s exceptional contributions spanning over a decade in the field of acting.
Sajal Aly possesses an innate ability to captivate the camera effortlessly, demonstrating significant gravitas and charisma throughout her career. Her performances have earned both critical and commercial acclaim beyond Pakistan’s borders, notably in movies like “Mom,” in which she starred alongside the legendary Sri Devi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as well as the recently released Hollywood film “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” where she acted alongside Shabana Azmi, Lilly James, and Emma Thompson. The movie was produced by Jemima Khan and directed by Shekhar Kapoor.
The statement further elaborated that Sajal Aly has consistently been a reassuring presence on screen, utilizing her versatility to excel in both comedic and dramatic roles.
