Teddi Mellencamp
Teddi Mellencamp, the reality TV star and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member, has shared an emotional and candid update regarding her ongoing battle with stage 4 cancer.
In the latest episode of her Two T’s In A Pod podcast, Mellencamp revealed a deeply personal conversation she had with her father, legendary musician John Mellencamp, about her funeral plans amid her ongoing fight with melanoma.
Teddi, 43, disclosed that her father has already begun making arrangements for her funeral, which she described as a rather somber discussion.
She recalled a time when her father called her repeatedly, 11 times in a row. “Finally, I answer, I’m like, ‘I’m in the bath. Let me live a little.’ He goes, ‘I just want to make sure you’re going to be in our group family mausoleum,’” Teddi shared. The conversation then took a morbid turn when her father outlined the specifics of the family burial plot.
She explained that her dad reassured her, “There’s going to be the top five and then we’re gonna have little areas around it, and then that’s where everyone’s going to get buried.”
Teddi, who has three children with her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, then asked whether there would be enough space for her kids. The reality star, who is currently navigating the pain of her cancer diagnosis, said she appreciated the practicality but also found the situation emotionally heavy.
Teddi was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2022, and just a few weeks ago, she shared on Instagram that doctors had found additional tumors in her brain and lungs.
“I have 3 more tumors in my brain and 2 tumors on my lungs. These are all a direct result of my melanoma,” she wrote, expressing the harsh reality of her medical journey.
While the conversation with her father may have been difficult, it also highlighted the deep bond and care her family has for her during this incredibly challenging time.
Teddi continues to share her journey with fans, using her platform to raise awareness about melanoma and the ongoing fight against cancer.
