Showbiz star Saheefa Jabbar Khattak has come forward to support fellow actor Amar Khan in response to online criticism focused on Khan’s appearance, particularly her forehead.
The controversy began after a recent transition video of Khan, showcasing a gelled-back half-ponytail look, went viral. This sparked a wave of discussion about her looks rather than her professional accomplishments.
Saheefa Jabbar Khattak took to Instagram to express her disapproval of the attention being given to Khan’s appearance instead of her talents.
In a series of Instagram stories, Khattak criticized the focus on Khan’s forehead rather than her professional achievements.
“It’s astounding that my friend and colleague’s appearance is making headlines, while her craft and impressive accomplishments are overlooked,” she wrote, sharing a post with the headline, “Public is talking about Amar Khan’s forehead.”
Khattak emphasized that Khan has dedicated years to her craft, excelling in writing, directing, and acting. “She has achieved everything through hard work, yet her artistic achievements are not deemed newsworthy,” Khattak noted.
The actor’s frustration extended to the media, which she accused of amplifying trivial discussions.
“Publishing houses and media portals should be more discerning about what they report. There’s no need to fuel these superficial discussions,” she added.
Despite Khattak’s defense, Khan herself appeared unfazed by the criticism. In response, she acknowledged Khattak’s support but pointed out, “Craft and achievements are also news, but they aren’t as sensational.”
Khan concluded that her work speaks for itself and has consistently garnered positive recognition.
The incident highlights ongoing issues of how public figures, particularly women, are often judged more on their appearance than their professional accomplishments.
