Following the completion of her latest Netflix venture, “Damsel,” Millie Bobby Brown, the 20-year-old British sensation known for her role in “Stranger Things,” drew comparisons between herself and Hollywood heavyweight Tom Cruise.
Proudly sharing her experience on a recent chat show, Millie Brown revealed that she personally executed all her stunts throughout the film, dubbing herself the “female version” of the 61-year-old action star.
Despite her bravado, Brown admitted to initial fears about undertaking the physical challenges, citing a lack of formal training. Reflecting on the uncertainties, she recounted the moments leading up to her stunts, recalling the surprising directive, “‘Are we really gonna, like, am I really gonna do that stunt?’ And then that day they’re like, ‘Yep, put the harness on.'”
In “Damsel,” an action-fantasy feature premiering on Netflix on March 8, Brown takes on the role of Princess Elodie. The film, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, also stars Ray Winstone, Nick Robinson, and Angela Bassett.
It follows Princess Elodie, a sheltered noblewoman who, after agreeing to marry a handsome prince, discovers that his family intends to sacrifice her to settle an ancient debt.
Beyond her on-screen prowess, Brown shared insights into her desire for a low-profile life despite her meteoric rise to fame. This includes navigating the challenges of being a public figure while portraying iconic characters such as Eleven in “Stranger Things.”
