A resident of Mumbai has lodged a complaint with the local police against Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, asserting that he and his family have offended religious sentiments in a widely circulated video of their Christmas celebration.
The video captures the Kapoor family pouring liquor on a cake, set ablaze by Ranbir, who simultaneously utters ‘Jai Mata Di.’
The complainant argues that in Hinduism, the fire god is traditionally invoked before other deities, and the deliberate use of intoxicants during the celebration of another religion’s festival, accompanied by the chant ‘Jai Mata Di,’ constitutes a deliberate act that has hurt religious sentiments.
As of now, no First Information Report (FIR) has been filed in this matter.
The controversial video, recorded during the Kapoor family’s annual Christmas lunch, has sparked considerable attention on the internet.
Notably, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt took the opportunity to unveil the face of their daughter Raha during the same event. The couple graciously posed for paparazzi with their little one upon arriving for the family gathering.
