Members of the Christian community in Maharashtra, India have filed a police complaint against Kareena Kapoor Khan over the title of her new book — Pregnancy Bible. The community has taken offense to the inclusion of the word “bible” in the title and accused Kapoor of hurting religious sentiments.
Alpha Omega Christian Mahasangh President Ashish Shinde submitted a police complaint about the book against Kapoor and two others on Wednesday.
Kapoor launched her book Pregnancy Bible on June 9. The actor had taken to Instagram to announce the launch. Calling the book her “third child”, she made the announcement soon after she gave birth to her second son with actor Saif Ali Khan in February.
“This book is a very personal account of what I experienced both physically and emotionally through both my pregnancies,” she stated on Instagram.
“This has been quite the journey… both my pregnancies and writing my Pregnancy Bible. There were good days and bad days; some days I was raring to go to work and others where I struggled to get out of bed,” said Kapoor.
A police officer confirmed the complaint had been registered but no FIR has been filed yet. The injured party filed the complaint in the wrong city. The complaint was filed in Beed but has been advised to file it in Mumbai, where the book is being printed.
