Angelina Jolie Calls Gaza a ‘Mass Grave’ in Pro-Palestine Post

Angelina Jolie

Hollywood icon and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has once again used her platform to raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, voicing her solidarity with the Palestinian people.

In a recent Instagram story, Jolie reposted a powerful message from the humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières), which delivered a stark depiction of the dire situation in Gaza.

The post referred to Gaza as a “mass grave,” emphasizing the catastrophic toll that the Israeli military offensive has taken on Palestinian civilians and humanitarian workers alike.

It condemned the intensifying Israeli air, land, and sea attacks, highlighting that not only are Palestinians being subjected to relentless violence and displacement, but aid workers are also facing severe threats while trying to provide life-saving support. The post accused Israeli forces of deliberately blocking humanitarian assistance and systematically destroying Palestinian lives.

Jolie’s repost did not go unnoticed. Far-right Israeli supporters quickly voiced their outrage across social media platforms, criticizing the actress for taking a public stand.

However, Jolie, who served as a goodwill ambassador and later as a special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for nearly two decades, has a longstanding record of advocating for victims of war and displacement, including those in Palestine.

She has previously spoken out against Israeli aggression in Gaza, calling for accountability and urging the international community to prioritize the protection of innocent lives, particularly women and children.

Her most recent social media activity underscores her continued commitment to global humanitarian causes and her willingness to confront controversial issues.

Since the start of Israel’s military campaign on October 7, 2023, over 51,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom are women and children, have lost their lives in Gaza.

In a historic legal move, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants in November 2024 for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Meanwhile, Israel is also defending itself in a genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), further intensifying global scrutiny of its actions in Gaza.

Angelina Jolie’s public support adds to a growing chorus of voices demanding justice, ceasefire, and accountability in what has become one of the most pressing human rights crises of the decade.
