Eight people were killed and three others injured during an armed clash between two groups in Dadu’s katcha area on Sunday.
The exchange of fire involved members of the Chandya tribe and caused fear among local residents. Consequently, residents remained indoors as the clash turned the area into a battlefield.
Police Shift Victims to Dadu Hospital
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Jhalo police station, according to sources. Six people reportedly died from one group, while two others lost their lives from the rival group.
The deceased included Bachal Chandio, Manzoor Chandio, Sultan Chandio, Zulfiqar Chandio, Hajan Chandio, and Fida Chandio. Authorities also confirmed the deaths of two brothers, Deedar Chandio and Gul Bahar Chandio.
Meanwhile, three people, including a woman, sustained injuries during the firing. Police teams shifted the bodies and injured victims to Dadu’s District Headquarters Hospital.
DSP City Akbar Channa led a large police contingent to the scene after authorities received information. Furthermore, police secured the area and began efforts to control the situation.
One injured person, identified as Mumtaz Chandio, remained in critical condition. Doctors subsequently referred him to a hospital in Sehwan for further treatment.
Sindh CM Orders Action Against Culprits
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the deadly clash. He sought a detailed report from the provincial Inspector General of Police regarding the incident.
Moreover, the chief minister directed police to arrest those responsible for the killings. He also ordered authorities to ensure that those involved face legal action.
Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow over the deaths and offered condolences to the bereaved families. He stressed that nobody could take the law into their own hands.
The chief minister further warned that authorities would take strict action against those responsible. Meanwhile, police continued investigating the circumstances behind the violent confrontation.
The deadly clash has raised fresh concerns about law and order in Dadu’s katcha region. Authorities are expected to maintain increased security to prevent further violence.
