The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that Eid Milad-un-Nabi will fall on August 26. The committee did not receive credible moon sighting reports.
Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced the decision after chairing the committee meeting in Islamabad. Representatives from relevant government institutions also supported the moon sighting process.
Rabi-ul-Awwal Begins On August 15
The committee reviewed reports and testimonies received from different parts of the country. However, officials confirmed that no credible evidence established the sighting.
Therefore, the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal 1448 AH will fall on Saturday, August 15. The 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal will consequently fall on Wednesday, August 26.
Representatives from the Pakistan Meteorological Department and Ministry of Science and Technology participated in the process. Other concerned institutions also provided technical assistance.
