ISLAMABAD: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty arrived in Islamabad on Saturday as part of an official visit to the country. The visit comes at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. It is also a reflection of the increasing diplomatic efforts of Pakistan to ease the rising tensions in the region.
Abdelatty is scheduled to hold consultations with the Pakistani leadership as part of the visit, according to the Foreign Office statement. He is also scheduled to meet the Pakistani prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, as part of the visit. The consultations will be held on the regional situation, particularly in the Middle East region.
High-level engagement on regional issues
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Minister is also scheduled to attend a two-day quadrilateral meeting to be held on March 29 and 30 in Islamabad. This meeting will bring together major regional players to address critical issues facing the regionโs geopolitics.
Further, foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are also scheduled to arrive on Sunday. This is also expected to add to the strength of diplomatic engagement at the forum. It is therefore clear that the talks will be critical in determining the regional dialogue.

The Foreign Office has stated that the visit demonstrates the close and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Egypt. It also underscores their continued coordination on regional and international issues.
