New Opportunities Announced for Students
Pakistan has announced 500 scholarships for students from Bangladesh over the next five years under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, a programme designed to strengthen educational cooperation and expand academic engagement between the two countries. Officials said the initiative aims to create greater opportunities for learning, exchange, and institutional collaboration.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the launch of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor during his visit to Bangladesh in August 2025. Authorities stated that the programme forms part of broader efforts to strengthen people-to-people contacts and encourage cooperation in educational sectors.
Furthermore, officials noted that such initiatives can help build stronger academic partnerships while increasing opportunities for students to access international educational experiences and professional development programs. Analysts also suggested that educational collaboration frequently plays an important role in strengthening long-term relations between countries.
Programme Moves Forward With New Phase
Meanwhile, the Foreign Office stated that authorities launched the second phase of the initiative in Dhaka on May 10, 2026, signaling continued progress in the implementation of the programme. Officials indicated that both countries remain engaged in activities aimed at expanding cooperation under the initiative.
According to the statement, a Bangladeshi delegation is currently visiting Pakistan for a three-week programme under the Knowledge Corridor framework. The visit is expected to support interaction and collaboration between institutions and participants involved in educational and professional exchange efforts.
Additionally, the Foreign Office stated that Ishaq Dar expressed satisfaction over positive developments in bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh. Consequently, observers believe continued educational initiatives and institutional exchanges may contribute to stronger engagement and deeper cooperation between both countries in the future.
