ECP adjourns indictment of PTI chairman
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) adjourned the indictment of PTI chairman Imran Khan till August 22.
PTI chairman did not appear in before the four-member bench of the ECP today.
His lawyer informed the ECP bench that PTI chairman was appearing in different court cases today. Hence, he requested the bench to adjourn the hearing.
Earlier, the ECP had announcement of the indictment of Imran Khan on August 2 (today). Khan is facing a contempt of the ECP and chief election commissioner case.
The election commission’s bench has also asked the PTI chairman to ensure his presence on Wednesday.

Last week, the four-member bench had deferred the PTI chairman’s indictment at the request of his counsel.
This case started in August of the previous year. PTI leaders Imran Khan, Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry are facing contempt of CEC case.
They are accused of allegedly using contemptuous language against the commission and CEC during their media interactions on various occasions.
Imran Khan, who received a non-bailable warrant recently, attended the Commission’s bench hearing along with his counsel Shoaib Shaheen.
The PTI chief’s lawyer requested a deferment, stating that he needed more time to collect the case record.
The commission retorted by reminding him that managing the file and case record was his responsibility.
