China has displayed its first domestically produced and most modern large passenger jet _the C919, at an airshow in Zhuhai city of China.
Chinese aviation regulators have accorded approval for the launching of C919.

The sleek and narrow-body passenger-aircraft took a round at the China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition. The plane also flew into the cloudy skies over Zhuhai city before landing in front of hundreds of onlookers at the exhibition.
According to Chinese officials, the C919 plane – built at the Commercial Aircraft Corp of China (COMAC) will be a good competitor for the Boeing 737 MAX and the Airbus A320.
Chinese authorities believe that their first homegrown jetliner with a huge commercial potential will reduce China’s dependence on foreign technology.
Chinese regulators approved the C919 in September, with President Xi Jinping hailing the project’s “gratifying achievements” and calling it “an effort freighted with the will of the country”.
Airlines in China have welcomed the arrival of C919 although the plane is still to receive regulatory approval from the US and European aviation authorities.
