Pakistan Launches Crypto Council to Drive Digital Finance Evolution

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC) has been officially launched, marking a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards integrating blockchain technology and digital assets into its financial system.

The initiative reflects the government’s proactive approach to regulating and fostering innovation in the crypto space, with the goal of positioning Pakistan as a leader in the global digital economy.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Pakistan Crypto Council will play a crucial role in formulating policies, encouraging innovation, and ensuring a secure and forward-thinking environment for crypto adoption.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has been appointed as the Chair of the council, while Bilal Bin Saqib, the Chief Advisor to the Finance Minister on the Pakistan Crypto Council, will serve as the CEO. Saqib brings extensive expertise in blockchain technology, investment strategy, and digital innovation, which will help drive the council’s vision forward.

The council’s board members include the Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Federal Law Secretary, and the Federal IT Secretary.

This diverse leadership structure ensures that financial stability, regulatory oversight, legal frameworks, and technological advancements are integrated to support Pakistan’s evolving crypto ecosystem.

The formation of the Pakistan Crypto Council highlights the government’s commitment to embracing the global shift toward digital finance.
