Partnership Focuses on Digital Innovation and Financial Inclusion
ISLAMABAD: Easypaisa digital bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Binance to explore opportunities in emerging financial technologies and support the growth of Pakistanโs digital financial ecosystem.
The agreement was signed in Islamabad by Jahanzeb Khan, President and CEO of easypaisa digital bank, and Tarik Erk, Regional Head for the Middle East, North Africa and Tรผrkiye region and Senior Executive Officer in Abu Dhabi for Binance.
According to an official statement, both organisations will begin exploratory discussions to identify potential areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening Pakistanโs digital savings, investment and financial technology landscape.
However, officials clarified that any future collaboration will remain subject to regulatory approvals, licensing requirements and compliance with Pakistanโs evolving legal and financial frameworks.
The initiative comes as Pakistan continues to expand its focus on digital finance, innovation and financial inclusion through regulated technology-driven solutions.
Regulatory Compliance Remains Central to Discussions
Meanwhile, Binance has secured Anti-Money Laundering (AML) registration from the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA), a development viewed as an important step toward supporting a regulated digital asset environment in the country.
Under the MoU, both parties may also explore educational, awareness and capacity-building initiatives designed to improve understanding of emerging financial technologies and their potential applications.
Jahanzeb Khan said the collaboration offers an opportunity to learn from Binanceโs global experience while remaining aligned with local regulatory requirements.
He added that easypaisa aims to explore secure and reliable methods of expanding digital financial access and encouraging responsible innovation.
Industry Leaders Highlight Growth Potential
Furthermore, Binance officials described Pakistan as a promising market for technology-driven financial solutions due to its growing digital adoption and increasing regulatory engagement.
Tarik Erk said Binanceโs international expertise, combined with easypaisaโs extensive local reach, could help support sustainable ecosystem development and responsible innovation.
As discussions move forward, both organisations expressed optimism that the partnership could contribute to broader financial inclusion, technological advancement and long-term growth within Pakistanโs rapidly evolving digital economy.
