Dubai has secured second place in the Boston Consulting Group’s Intelligent Cities Index. Consequently, the ranking highlights the emirate’s leadership in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
The index assessed 61 cities across 39 countries for the first time. Moreover, it evaluated cities on their ability to use digital technologies and AI to improve public services, business growth, and quality of life.
The report measured performance across five key areas, including outcomes, strategy, adoption, ways of working, and enablers. Additionally, it used 35 indicators covering 14 dimensions of digital transformation.
Dubai Leads In AI Adoption
According to the report, Dubai ranked first globally for adopting AI technologies and smart city solutions. Furthermore, the emirate demonstrated one of the highest levels of digital maturity among all participating cities.
The report credited Dubai’s extensive use of AI across multiple sectors. As a result, residents and businesses continue benefiting from practical digital services and innovative technology solutions.
Officials Highlight Digital Vision
Digital Dubai Director General Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori said the achievement reflects the leadership’s long-term vision for digital transformation. He added that strong collaboration, shared digital infrastructure, and data-driven policies have strengthened Dubai’s competitiveness.
Dubai Future Foundation Chief Executive Officer Khalfan Juma Belhoul also welcomed the ranking. Moreover, he said the city continues transforming emerging technologies into practical solutions that improve productivity and support sustainable economic growth.
The report concluded that cities integrating AI into core services achieve faster improvements in public services and quality of life. Meanwhile, Dubai continues positioning itself as a global model for future-ready digital cities.
