Islamabad Police Announce Strict Action from 1st of October
ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police announced a strict action against those driving the vehicles without license in the capital city from October 1, 2025.
Also, the Islamabad Police connected the Faizabad Traffic Police Office with 11 Police Khidmat Marakiz to improve public convenience and curb corruption. Authorities said the move will simplify access to traffic-related services and ensure greater transparency.
Extended Working Hours for Public Convenience
Officials confirmed that all facilitation centres will now operate from 9am to 9pm, extending working hours by three hours. Moreover, the Faizabad Traffic Police Office and the F-6 Khidmat Markaz will remain open 24 hours a day.
To meet rising demand, the police are also setting up additional service counters. These steps aim to help citizens obtain licenses without unnecessary delays.
Crackdown on Unlicensed Driving from October 1
Starting October 1, drivers without valid licenses will face strict action. The measures include heavy fines, FIR registration at the concerned police station, vehicle impoundment, and arrest of the driver.
Officials stressed that no leniency will be shown after the deadline. Citizens have been urged to obtain valid driving licenses before the enforcement date.
High-Level Meeting and Directives
The decision was taken in a late-night meeting chaired by the Inspector General of Islamabad Police. Senior officers, including the DIG Islamabad, also attended.
The IGP directed staff to accelerate the license issuance process. He also emphasized providing maximum facilities to the public at every stage.
Future Plans for Licensing Services
The IGP announced that traffic police-related services will soon be available at every police station in the federal capital. Furthermore, driving license facilities are now operational at all 11 Khidmat Marakiz, making the process more accessible for citizens.
Police are also running awareness campaigns across multiple platforms to educate the public about the new measures.
Police Commitment to Public Service
The IGP reiterated that ensuring law and order, combating crime, and serving citizens remain Islamabad Policeโs top priorities. He said that convenience, accountability, and enforcement will go hand in hand to improve public trust.
