Domino’s has announced a $1 million free pizza giveaway following a red card shown to a United States player. The promotion was triggered during the U.S. Men’s National Team match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The offer became active after Folarin Balogun received a red card during the match. Consequently, thousands of eligible fans will receive free pizzas.
Red Card Activates Domino’s Promotional Campaign
Before the tournament, Domino’s launched a campaign linked to the U.S. Men’s National Team. The company promised free “emergency pizza” whenever a U.S. player received a red card.
According to the company, the campaign aims to soften fans’ disappointment during unexpected match incidents. Therefore, Domino’s expects to distribute more than 60,000 medium-sized pizzas.
Balogun scored for the United States before receiving a red card in the second half. However, the team maintained its lead and secured qualification for the next round.
Offer Limited To Registered Domino’s Customers
Following the victory, eligible American fans became entitled to claim a free pizza. However, the promotion only applies to customers who registered on Domino’s website before June 10.
Participants also needed to join the company’s promotional programme before the deadline. As a result, the giveaway excludes fans who signed up after the closing date.
Domino’s said the “emergency pizza” campaign makes major sporting events more exciting. Moreover, the initiative rewards loyal customers during memorable moments throughout the tournament.
