Medical Team to Assess Reported Eye Condition
A panel of doctors will examine former prime minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail today. The medical visit comes amid rising concerns about his reported eye condition.
Sources said the examination is scheduled for Saturday. The move follows claims that Imran Khan has developed a serious issue with his right eye. He reportedly told legal representatives that he has lost 85 per cent of vision in that eye.
A report about his jail conditions was recently submitted to the court. The report was prepared by PTI lawyer Salman Safdar, who was appointed amicus curiae. The document highlighted health concerns and requested medical attention.
According to sources, senior government officials informed Gohar Ali Khan about the planned medical visit. Gohar Ali Khan serves as chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Officials confirmed that the medical panel will assess Imran Khan’s condition later today. Party leadership has been formally notified about the examination. Authorities say the check-up is part of routine medical oversight.
PTI leaders, however, have expressed concern over delays in treatment. They argue that immediate hospital care may be required if the condition is serious.
PTI Lawmakers Stage Protest Inside Parliament House
Meanwhile, PTI lawmakers staged a late-night protest inside Parliament House on Friday. The demonstration focused on Imran Khan’s health situation.
Members of the Tehreek Tahaffuz Aain-e-Pakistan also joined the protest. PTI parliamentarians said their sit-in would continue until their party founder is shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities responded by tightening security. The main entrances to Parliament House were closed. A heavy police contingent was deployed around the building to maintain order.
Protesting lawmakers decided to spend the night outside the mosque within the Parliament House complex. They described the protest as peaceful but firm.
Security was also increased outside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad. Officials sealed all major entry and exit points to the Red Zone. Only Margalla Road remains open for limited access.
Entry into Parliament House has been restricted. Even lawmakers face limited access due to heightened security measures.
The situation remains tense as the country watches developments closely. PTI leaders insist that medical transparency is essential. Government officials maintain that proper procedures are being followed.
The outcome of today’s medical examination could shape the next phase of political developments. Both supporters and critics are awaiting the doctors’ findings. Health concerns surrounding Imran Khan continue to dominate Pakistan’s political landscape.
