A 50-year-old doctor was shot dead inside his clinic in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Maymar area on Friday evening. Unidentified armed men entered the medical facility and opened fire on Dr Kashif Agha while he was examining patients.
According to police, the attackers targeted the doctor inside his clinic near Nawaz Sharif Park. They fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene, leaving the doctor critically injured.
Dr Kashif sustained several bullet wounds and was immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. However, doctors pronounced him dead after he succumbed to his injuries.
Police Investigate Doctor’s Killing
Police officials said two unidentified armed men carried out the attack at a medical centre in Sector X-2. At the time, two doctors were attending patients in the outpatient department, but the attackers specifically targeted Dr Kashif.
Meanwhile, investigators collected evidence from the crime scene and launched efforts to identify and arrest the suspects. Police have also started examining the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
A police spokesperson said preliminary findings suggested personal enmity behind the murder. However, investigators are examining different possibilities to establish the actual motive.
