Reports Say Georgina Has Become Legal Mother of Cristiano Jr, Eva and Mateo
Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have reportedly taken another major step in their family life, just days after officially getting married in Portugal.
Portuguese and Spanish media reports claim Georgina has formally adopted Ronaldo’s three eldest children — Cristiano Ronaldo Jr and twins Eva María and Mateo — making her their legal mother.
The reported development comes shortly after Ronaldo, 41, and Georgina, 32, married in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on August 11, 2026.
Multiple European outlets have reported that the adoption process was handled privately and that Georgina’s legal relationship with the three children has now been formalised.
However, neither Ronaldo nor Georgina has publicly confirmed the reported adoption as of August 23.
Portuguese outlet TV 7 Dias was cited as an original source for the claim, while several international publications subsequently reported the development.
The distinction is important because reports describing Georgina as the children’s new “legal guardian” do not fully capture the claim being made.
Media reports say she has legally adopted the three children, which would establish a formal parent-child relationship rather than simply granting temporary guardianship.
Ronaldo and Georgina Married in Intimate Cascais Ceremony
Ronaldo and Georgina officially married on August 11, exactly one year after announcing their engagement and around a decade after they first met.
Ronaldo’s management confirmed the marriage, while the couple also announced the news through their social media accounts with a photograph showing their wedding bands.
The ceremony was deliberately private.
It took place at the couple’s home in Cascais rather than at a large public venue.
Their five children attended the ceremony along with only four witnesses, according to reports about the wedding.
Those present included Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, twins Eva and Mateo, and Ronaldo and Georgina’s daughters Alana Martina and Bella Esmeralda.
The couple welcomed Alana in 2017.
Georgina later gave birth to twins in 2022, but their son Ángel died during childbirth. Their daughter Bella Esmeralda survived.
Despite not previously being the legal mother of Ronaldo’s three eldest children, Georgina has helped raise them throughout her relationship with the football star.
She has frequently referred to the children collectively as her family and has publicly presented herself as a mother to all of them.
Reports therefore describe the alleged adoption as the legal formalisation of a family relationship that had already existed in everyday life for years.
Couple Could Hold Larger Celebration With Family and Friends
Ronaldo and Georgina’s wedding surprised many fans because the couple chose a highly private ceremony rather than the elaborate celebration widely expected for one of football’s most famous stars.
Their civil wedding was attended primarily by their children and a handful of witnesses.
Reports surrounding the ceremony said Ronaldo’s wider family was not part of the small gathering, although claims about precisely when relatives were informed have not been independently confirmed.
The couple is now expected to potentially organise a larger celebration involving relatives and friends at a later stage.
People reported that Ronaldo and Georgina have discussed holding another gathering following their intimate civil ceremony.
The reported adoption of Cristiano Jr, Eva and Mateo would represent another significant development for the family following the marriage.
Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, now 16, is Ronaldo’s eldest child.
Twins Eva María and Mateo are nine.
Georgina has been part of their lives since the early years of her relationship with Ronaldo, which began after the pair met in Madrid in 2016.
If the reported adoption is officially confirmed, Georgina would have the same recognised parental relationship with Ronaldo’s three eldest children that she already has with daughters Alana and Bella.
For now, however, the adoption should be described as reported rather than officially confirmed, as the couple has not publicly announced the legal change themselves.
