Nine people were killed and two others abducted in a series of violent incidents across several districts of Balochistan on Saturday, highlighting the provinceโs worsening security situation. The shootings and kidnappings occurred in Kalat, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Panjgur, Kachhi, and Chagai districts.
In Kalatโs Khaliqabad area, four people, including tribal leader Shakir Saadullah Langove and his brother Shakir Khairullah Langove, were shot dead when unidentified gunmen opened fire in the Sarbund area. Levies officials identified the other two victims as Muhammad Karim and Muhammad Zahir. The attackers fled after the assault, and authorities have launched an investigation.
In Panjgurโs Shpistan area, two people โ Muhammad Zafar and Muhammad Naeem โ were killed when armed men on a motorbike opened fire. Police said the motive behind the attack remains unknown.
Meanwhile, in Dera Murad Jamali, two excavator drivers working for a construction company were abducted at gunpoint near the Notal police station in Nasirabad district. The kidnapped men, Aashiq Ali Mohammad Hasni and Shakeel Ahmed Korai, were taken away while their machinery was left at the site. Security forces have begun a search operation to locate them.
Separately, in Kachhi districtโs Goth Misri Khan, Abdul Qadir Kurd was gunned down by unidentified assailants who escaped after the shooting.
In Jhal Magsiโs Hathyari area, a tribal clash between the Solangi and Wazdani Magsi tribes over a land dispute left one man, Muhammad Bachal Magsi, dead before authorities restored order.
In Dalbandin, Chagai district, tribal leader Sardar Hussain was killed in a targeted shooting near the district headquarters. Police collected evidence and began an investigation. Officials said repeated killings and abductions in recent weeks have raised alarm among residents, underscoring the urgent need to strengthen law enforcement in Balochistan.
